A very special new walking tour.
Nguyễn Thế Sơn (public art artist, researcher, former art lecturer at the Fine Arts university) has curated a fascinating exhibition based on the art heritage of a number of communal houses in the Old Quarter. On display in 6 communal houses (Đình) are works of art that reflect the story and heritage of the chosen communal houses. This is done through a number of ways including artworks using the medium of the handicraft/art that is associated with the particular communal house, or paintings and installation art that depict heritage of the particular communal house.
Their stories are told through art. Our guide is our wonderful friend Nguyễn Thế Sơn. The format is a walking tour going from communal house to communal house.
Starting at Đình Hà Vỹ in Hàng Hòm we walk through the streets and alleys to also visit Đình Phả Trúc Lâm, Đình Yên Thái, Đình Tú Thị, Đình Trung Yên, and Đình Nam Hương in the Old Quarter and down to Hàng Trống.
