INTRODUCTION
We run a number of art workshops with 2 young artists Linh and Nhung, who graduated from the Fine Arts University 2-3 years ago. They often create new workshops that we love to try out. The formats are 2 part – we start with a presentation on the craft workshop topic re the origins and significance in Vietnamese culture and heritage, followed by the workshop. The topics feature tradtional Vietnamese craft materials and/or images that are important in Vietnam.
The Nghê workhop
We also featured this topic in 2025 when we painted this little creature with glass paint on perspex. This time it will be a clay nghê
We start off with a powerpoint presentation about the Nghe (an imaginary Vietnamese spiritual/sacred animal). Linh and Nhung explain first about cultural and artistic significance so you that you understand more about what you will be painting.
