Thanks to one of our members FVH is proud to have a wonderful friendship and collaboration with the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam (centres 1 and 2). This morning we hold a behind the scenes visit to Archives Centre no. 3 which holds post-1945 to present day records.
We meet the Director – Tran Viet Hoa – and some of her team who will take us on a fascinating tour to see the Archives work in progress. We hold these tours a few times a year with both centres. See how paper documents, film, audio, photos and personal items are catalogued and stored. Look at and possibly hold precious original documents signed by people such as Hồ Chí Minh and General Võ Nguyên Giáp– items such as these are national treasures. We learn about the rules of archiving and the future plans the archives.
