Talk: at home with Vietnamese Composer Nguyễn Văn Quỳ – FULL
May 11, 2019 @ 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
200,000VNDTHIS EVENT IS FULL. REGISTRATIONS ARE BEING TAKEN FOR THE WAITING LIST. THANKS
On 30 October 2018 FVH and UNIS Hanoi staged a very successful and moving evening where we paid tribute to Nguyễn Văn Quỳ’s sonatas, songs and poetry. Quỳ, nicknamed the Beethoven of Vietnam, while frail still retains a very sharp focused mind. He loves meeting people especially those interested in music, French, his life, Vietnam, teaching etc. He has always said his 3 passions in life are Vietnam, teaching and music.
We decided it would be meaningful and fun for small groups of FVH members to visit him at his home (in the Old Quarter). This is your chance to talk to the Maestro, listen to his memories, his love of music and see society through the eyes of this 94 yr old composer.
All proceeds go to Quỳ.
He speaks Vietnamese, French and English (although he is more comfortable speaking French).
Due to space limitation and to keep the meeting more intimate 10 pax is the very maximum.
For FVH members who are musicians and/or have a special love of music I am sure we can arrange a specialised talk with him +create a music group to meet him regularly. Also he can still teach the theory of music.
For more information/RSVP please contact Stella
His address will be sent to those who sign up.
