Traditional art workshop (afternoon) – lacquer painting with Prof. Tuan

We are delighted to team up with lacquer artist Prof. Tuan (Tran Anh Tuan) of the Tay Ho lacquer school (in Nghia Do, between Vo Chi Cong and Lac Long Quan) to run 2 sessions for small groups of FVH (morning and afternoon so pick which one is better for you).
outline programme for both sessions AFTRNOON
- An overview of the history of lacquer art
- Introduction to the skills and tools
- Introduction to lacquer techniques including sketching, painting, gluing eggshell and silver leaf, sanding, polishing.
- Choose an item to work on to create your own piece of laquer art to take home – eg. necklaces, cup holders, plates, paintings (10cm X10cm)
The lacquer paints are allergy-free.
Meeting point, studio address and welcome note will be sent to those who are confirmed on the workshops.
