Tour (English): Behind the scenes – State Records & Archives Department of Vietnam
July 17, 2020 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
150,000VND
FVH is delighted to collaborate with the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam. This afternoon we visit Archives Centre no. 3 which holds post-1945 to present day records. THIS IS A UNIQUE EVENT FOR THE HANOI COMMUNITY
We meet the Director – Tran Viet Hoa – and some of her team who will take us on a fascinating behind the scenes tour. See how paper documents, film, audio, photos and personal items are catalogued and stored. Look at and possibly hold precious original documents signed by people such as Hồ Chí Minh and General Võ Nguyên Giáp– items such as these are national treasures. We learn about the rules of archiving and the future plans the archives. It really is a unique and quite moving experience. And we have a former FVH member to thank for having introduced us to the Archives.
The State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam is a very active department which holds and manages many events and exhibitions throughout Vietnam.
Note:
Hanoi: Archives Centre no.1 holds Colonial records (pre-1945)
