Tết craft workshop – mini calligraphy hangings

We have an extra impromptu event.
The are many symbolic and important practices in the run up to and during Tet. One of them is calligraphy hanging.
At this time of year people may want some particular characters, in which their wishes and dreams for the new year are laid out – such as Phuc (Happiness), Loc (Wealth), Tho (to be long-lived), Duc (Virtue), Tri (Knowledge) or Tai (Talent). Those characters are then hung on walls like targets and reminders of them for people to strive in that year
We will learn the meanings and importance of specific words that are used on the calligraphy hangings and Loc, the calligrapher, will instruct in how to write in the style.
A workshop to make our own calligraphy hangings – Lắng nghe mùa xuân về – to bring good wishes for the new year. They are the small ones that can be hung on kumquat trees and used as Tet decorations.
Come and join for a cozy few hours workshop where we can also chat more about the importance of calligraphy and calligraphy decorations at Tet.
The venue is in Bup and Loc’s tea shop. We used to do workshops at their tea shop in Vinh Phuc but they moved to Cau Giay.
