This is moved from morning 18 May to 24 May due to work commitments on 18 May.
Currently on display at the Hoan Kiem cultural centre, 2 Lê Thái Tổ, are a series of 50 photos of mothers of the martyrs taken by one of FVH’s lovely and most special of friends – colonel, journalist, and photographer NSNA Trần Hồng. The exhibition opened 25 April and is on for a month. Before it closes, colonel Hồng will take a small group of FVH friends on a private guided tour of his exhibition.
The exhibition is entitled ‘”Ký ức và huyền thoạ” (Memories and Legends) is organized by the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter in coordination with the Photography-Press Association (Hanoi Art Photography Association) and Trần Hồng. It is in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (30 April 1975-2025) and on display are 50 photo portraits of Vietnamese Mothers who embody maternal love and patriotism.
Colonel Hồng will explain a little about himself, (by the way he was General Võ Nguyên Giáp’s main photographer taking photos of him in every day life during military service) and the story behind the exhibition. He will guide us round and highlight 4-5 photos that are particularly special to him. Time for general conversation and Q&A as we go round.
(Colonel Hồng was born in 1947 in Hà Tĩnh Province and was soldier in group 559 for the Trường Sơn troop)
The tour will last about an hour or a bit longer if you wish to chat longer with the colonel.
