People of the Old Quarter. Meet Nghia – coffee and American War artefacts – nearly full
May 7, 2023 @ 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
150,000VNDAS OF 30 APRIL CURRENTLY 2 SPACES AVAILABLE
A repeat of our last event with Nghia – as a special request so we are holding it again in May.
Nghia runs an interesting cafe in the heart of the Old Quarter. In particular he loves making egg coffee. But this is not the focus of this event.
This is one of our ‘show and tell’/at home/cafe chats with an Old Quarter local. Nghia has lived and worked in Lan Ong street all his life, he is now about 58 years old. And he recently opened a new cafe which he has turned into his own mini private museum of discarded, lost and found and donated items from the American War. 99% of his collection relates to equipment, and personal items from the American army, air force and navy from the war. He has a special talent for fixing what seems unfixable and has many interesting stories to tell about what he has amassed over the years. American vets have been to visit him and write their memories and comments in his visitor book.
This event is a mixture of sitting drinking coffee and chatting to Nghia about living his life in the Old Quarter and finding out more about his collection.
We will give the cafe address to those who are confirmed as we want it to be a surprise when you visit. But its in the Lan Ong street area.
Nghia only speaks VN so Anh on our committee will translate into English.
max 8 people.
150,000 VND and drinks are an additional personal cost
