Meet the people – at home with retired doctors Doanh and Mai

Meet Bác sĩ Doanh Mai’ at their home off Vo Chi Cong street. This is the first of a what we hope will be series of at home chats with husband and wife Doanh and Mai – former doctors now retired who now live close to their family in Hanoi. They are delighted to open their home up to a small group of FVH members and share their working experience, memories and stories giving their own unique insight into life over the decades…. their medical training, what life and work was like during the American War, the roles they played, life after the war and how they learnt English in the 1980s, conversations on life and their hopes, dreams and aspirations.
Each meeting will start with a general introduction about them and then concentrate on a specific theme – for this 1st meeting it will probably be focused on how they learnt medical English and the challenges they faced in the 1980s using and applying their new found language skills.

Lương Ngọc Mai, MD, was also a well known acupuncturist in Quang Ninh Province. She graduated as a MD from Nam Ninh Medical University, China

They live off Vo Chi Cong not far from Lac Long Quan (Tay Ho), address details will be given to hose who are confirmed and defiantely coming to the event.
