Screening the film: Tấm Cám: Chuyện chưa kể (Tam Cam: The Untold Story)
This 2016 produced film (released in 2017) is based on “The Story of Tấm and Cám” which is one of the most popular Vietnamese fairy tales. The original story depicts lives of two half-sisters living under the same roof, the elder is Tấm and the younger is Cám. Tấm is tormented by the cruel stepmother and a good-for-nothing stepsister after her father dies. She then receives supernatural aid and becomes the wife of the crown prince. But even once she is happy, her jealous family will not leave her alone. The original Tấm Cám fairy tale is told with a modern twist in the 2nd half in this adventure, fantasy, and action film
Artful production design, costume and sets are beautifully expressed.
