Welcome to a stroll around some of Hanoi’s Old Quarter and the ’36 Streets’.
This is the Bạch Mã temple walk where we discover why a white horse was so instrumental in the building of the Thang Long citadel, how the trade of Hàng Buồm street today with its alcohol shops and bars is a far cry from its original trade, we visit a number of lesser known and hidden places of worship and find hidden alleys.
We start at Hàng Buồm, Bạch Mã temple and end at Ngo Gach Street, once a river 1,000 years ago. (NB Bạch Mã temple is currently under renovation but we will start outside it – there are still plenty of stories relating to it)
