Hanoi city walk BOXING DAY (English) – Lê Duản street and surrounding area

Join us for a Boxing Day stroll around Lê Duản street and the surrounding area. Starting at Cửa Nam we explore the history of the former Cửa Nam gate, nearby streets, where parasols were traded, one of the homes of the lady with the flared skirt (statue of liberty), one of the original pho ga stalls, what used to be where Quan An Ngon is, the Mandarin road, what was originally on the site of Hanoi railway station and so on ….. Most of what we talk about has long gone, as the area has been built up and many places pulled down so we will supplement with memories and photos of what hopefully will be an eclectic whistle stop tour through history.
