November 16 @ 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
450,000VNDUPDATED PROGRAMME AND AS OF 4 NOVEMBER MAX 2 SPACES AVAILABLE + WAITING LIST
This is a regular excursion we try to make every year to visit the Animals Asia bear sanctuary at the former French hill station of Tam Đảo, 85 km northwest of Hanoi. Its higher elevation and cooler temperatures than Hanoi. The highlight of this excursion is our morning visit to the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre. Animals Asia established this centre to provide bears rescued from illegal bear bile traders with a safe place to live, heal and recover. Animals Asia is devoted to ending bear bile farming and improving the welfare of animals across Asia. They promote compassion and respect for all animals and work to bring about long-term change.
Founded in 1998, the Animals Asia team has been rescuing bears since 1994. The bear sanctuary has TWO bear rescue centres in Vietnam, the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park and the Bach Ma Bear Rescue Centre in Bach Ma National Park. In total, they have rescued 699 bears in total across Vietnam and China. In Vietnam across both their rescue centres, they have rescued 281 bears. At the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park, the team have rescued 270 bears, with 191 still living at the sanctuary including 13 Malayan sun bears, and 178 are Asiatic black bears (also known as moon bears). Animal Asia team’s work focuses on three major programmes: end bear bile farming, cat and dog welfare, captive animal welfare. As an educational and non-profit organization, FVH also hopes to make a little contribution by developing a learning tour, making a donation, and sharing with others about the need of animal protection. We are learning more about the bear bile industry during our fourth visit to the bear sanctuary in Tam Dao.
After this journey, we hope you will carry something significant with you.
After a quick lunch in the afternoon, we will play a miniature hunting game at Tay Thien Pagoda. After that, we’ll all meet together to exchange information about our hunting experiences.
