This month’s lecture with Dr Trần Đoàn Lâm at the Đình Làng Việt venue features Confucius and Confucianism. This belief is a philosophy and ethical system which has underpinned Vietnam’s culture and political landscape for centuries. Its a huge topic and Lâm can only cover the essentials in one afternoon; the agenda will include a section on education and the Confucian court examinations (which made a huge impact on the culture and social order in Vietnam), as well as the main elements of this belief and some quirky facts.
