Craft workshop – etchnic minority fabric collage workshop

October 15 @ 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Many of you probably know Huyen, who started Textile Linker – dedicated to exploring traditional Vietnamese crafts. She has teamed up with Thuy who founded Chie Dù Pù Dù Pà in Hang Trong street to run run a number of craft workshops.  Huyen is tailoring some of the workshops for FVH and including some informative introductory talks which relate to the particular workshop.

For October we have a choice for this workshop collaging with pieces of ethnic minority fabric

  1. To collage a A5 hanging A5 ‘sign board’ (single or double sided) . or
  2. Collage on do paper and frame it – for this you need to bring your own frame

Actually the technique using the same idea as Vunart in Van Phuc village which collages with discarded silk scraps and they already approached Vunart to share ideas and to collaborate on some joint work. This workshop is  different as the artwork we produce will be based on ethnic minority art, symbols and pictures and we design our own pictures. you can make them as intricate, realistic, abstract as you like…..

We start with a half hour talk/show and tell about the ethnic minorities who contribute to this social enterprise and learn about some of the symbols and motifs that are both individual and common to these various groups. Then we spend a lovely few hours in creative bliss creating our own collage picture on the 2nd floor of Chie surrounded by ethnic minority art and textiles.

Max 8 people

Venue: Chie Dù Pù Dù Pà, in Hang Trong street

FVH gets a 20% discount on existing workshops, tailored to use with more information.
