Craft workshop – Batik dyeing (and ethnic minority textiles) – FULL

For this workshop we partner with Hong Ky (who will interpret and help guide) and Sầm Thị Tình who established Hoa Tien Brocade for this 2 part event (1) general introduction to ethnic minority textiles and exploring Tinh’s workshop and display area followed by (2) a beginner’s batiq dyeing workshop.
Tinh is Thai ethnic from Nghe An Province and she and her husband set up Hoa Tien Brocade. Some of you may already know her. For those who don’t know Hoa Tien we are running this small group workshop for those who want to learn about batiq natural dyeing.
We learn the process of how to draw and dye (cold dye process with indigo dye) using the batik method on a 50x50cm cotton sample.
Hoa Tien is in Mễ Trì Thượng not far from the JW Marriott (and National Convention Centre) in My Dinh so please allow time to get here . Location map other information will be sent to those confirmed on the workshop.
