We have met a wonderful 90 year old war veteran – Phương Soát – and now mooncake making artisan who we are including in our People of the Old Quarter series. In this section we meet people who were born, and living and working in the very heart of the Old Quarter so they can share their unique and personal life stories.
While we will probably touch on the mooncake profession this is not the focus of this talk (we will arrange a mooncake making workshop with an artisan family in a nearby mooncake/confectionary making village another time).
This afternoon this adorable, chatty and animated former army officer will invite us to his home down a little alley in the old quarter to share unique stories of growing up in this area, and his patriotic memories of fighting in the Amerian war. Really important with this event is to with the flow as Phương Soát is very chatty.
The programme is being finalised and will be updated in the calender and maiiling.
