This morning’s walk explores the area and meandering alleys around the Hàng Da market locality. We learn about the original trade of the surrounding streets, the concept of the Tuồng Theatre (Nhà hát Tuồng Việt Nam) , who the master embroiderer was and where he is worshipped, why was Princess Ý Lan given this name, and if we have time we may pass by the home of a former FVH friend – Nguyễn Văn Quỳ (who sadly died) who composed 9 sonatas for the violin and piano (Beethoven of Vietnam), discover a hidden old villa and explore alley ways you may not have wandered down before.
