DESCRIPTION:For Sóc Sơn SIGNED UP VOLUNTEERS ONLY \nOur volunteers are next at Soc Son on Sunday 6 October 2019 \nIf you are interested in joining our volunteer team\, please email Stella \nWe liaise a few weeks before each session to plan/ communicate by email. \nWe travel out by public bus (numbers 58 and 64) and back by taxi (FVH pays for the taxi back to Tay Ho/Xuan Dieu). \nThis is a fun opportunity to support the English language education of a group of young Vietnamese kids in a commune just outside Hanoi. FVH has been involved since December 2015 – Phú Thịnh\, a small village in Sóc Sơn District (not far from Noi Bai airport). \nIt is a unique time with an amazing philanthropist\, Mr. Hiển.  He single-handedly built a small library at his house for the local village children. The group is called ‘We Love Books Minh Phú ‘. These kids love nothing more than to read. His house has a garden full of flowers and trees. In this tranquil setting\, he runs the library with incredible efficiency and also teaches the kids English\, and other languages\, astronomy and swimming …. FVH coordinates a group of English speaking volunteers who visit Mr Hiển’s house one Sunday each month. We run a variety of English speaking activities\, culminating in an end of year party each May and a Christmas celebration with  wonderful performances of singing and theatre by the kids.
