SUMMARY:Music event: 1010th anniversary of Hanoi – The Hope Choir
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Hanoi’s 1010th anniversary the Hope Choir will perform at their blind centre a selection of songs in celebration of Hanoi as well as their favourite repertoire from around the world. \nThe choir is a group of singers and folk musicians who are blind or a few of them are severely visually impaired. They are amazing – not because they are blind but because quite simply they are fantastic  singers and musicians. \nWe are invited to an afternoon recital at their blind centre 21b Lac Trung – Sunday 11 October @ 3pm\,  It will end 4.30pm/5pm \nWe hope as many people can attend as possible to support them.  The choir was set up over 15 years ago by pianist Ton That Triem and his opera singer wife Xuan Thanh. What they have achieved with minimal funds and little resource is incredible.  If you have not heard them perform before then they are one group of people you cannot miss. They are amazing\, so please come along if you can. If you already know the choir then they need no introduction. \nThey sing the songs in the language of that song – from Russian\, Spanish\, Sri Lankan\, to Portuguese\, English\, French\, Japanese etc. Triem teaches them the meaning of each word\, they transcribe the lyrics into braille and they learn the song from braille.  They need the support of the international community to keep going.  Some of them come from families where 2-3 of the  siblings are also blind. They come from lives which are very hard and yet for many they have made incredible personal achievements – even going abroad to study\, getting masters degrees. \nIf you would like to come\, and for more info and location please RSVP  to Stella  and more details will follow. Please spread the word. \nThere is no entry fee but we hope anyone attending  would like to make a contribution to the FVH donation envelope for them – however big or small you would like as the choir relies on and needs community donations. \nFVH is proud to be long time partners with the Hope Choir. \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
