SUMMARY:Hanoi city walk (English) – the Ngọc Hà (former flower village) area
DESCRIPTION:This is a new walk for the English walks section around the former Ngọc Hà village \nThis area was famous for is floriculture and Ngoc Ha village has a long-standing history of planting flowers since the Tran dynasty and it became a well known area during French colonial time.  Its  flower growing industry has long gone\, but as we  explore its winding lanes we get a real sense of its old village feel.  This is an eclectic walk visiting tranquil places of worship such as Ngoc Ha communal house\, wandering the alleys and seeing some traditional food and ingredients\, seeing glimpses of the village’s ancient past\, ending at iconic Huu Tiep lake with the B52 plane and then back to Hoang Hoa Tham Street. (NB the lake is currently drained and is being cleaned up  but this is a fascinating chance to see the plane close up while it is not hidden by the water and to see the work being undertaken in the area) \nNote: \nPlease RSVP here \nA welcome note with meeting point will be sent to those confirmed on the walk a few days before. \nMaximum number 8 people.
