SUMMARY:Hanoi City Walk (ENG): Yết Kiêu Street area – arty\, musical\, and spooky Hanoi
DESCRIPTION:We start our stroll outside the Friendship culture palace on Trần Hưng Đạo\, up to Thiền Quang Lake and back up via Yết Kiêu Street. We look at the previous lives of buildings\, we visit some pagodas you may not have seen before\,  we attempt to engender some ‘spookiness’ surrounding Thiền Quang Lake\, what Thống Nhất Park was created from\, what statues ‘guard’ the circus and their original home\, through to influential musical composers of the 20th century ending with the founding of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and the artists who made this happen. \nStarting at the Friendship cultural palace and ending at a location in Le Duan street after the Fine Arts University. \n(When we started this route pre-covid it was lovely and quiet around Tran Hung Dao and our starting point; now its the metro construction is ongoing so please note the starting point is a bit of a building site… but we get a good view of some of the construction process). \nRSVP to Stella \nNumbers: max 8 pax \nAmount: 100\,000 VND pp \nStart time 09:30 lasts about 3  hrs \nMeeting point at a cafe on Quan Su street  – info will  be in the welcome email for those confirmed \nPlease provide your mobile number when registering \nMax 8 people \n  \n©1999 Friends of Vietnam Heritage.
