SUMMARY:Craft workshop - traditional paper masks - FULL
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nPlease sign up for the waiting list  \nWe visit the last remaining artisan family in the Old Quarter still making traditional papier-mâché masks.  Learn some interesting facts of this craft\, how they are made and the different painted images.  Each mask has its own story leading us into a world of Vietnamese fairy tales and literature. The papier-mâché painted masks have long been part of the ups and downs of North Vietnam’s history\, remaining an important element in our culture\, not only during mid-autumn but also as part of many other festivals. \nDetailed programme: \n8:45am: meet at 72 Hang Than (the intersection of Quan Thanh and Hang Than Street). We then go together to the artisans’ house inside alley 73 Hang Than \n9:00am: workshop begins. Select 2 mask designs you wish to decorate\, following the introduction and instruction of the artisans. Paint the pre-made made masks.
