SUMMARY:Craft workshop (a.m): the different faces of Tuồng (on clay) - FULL
DESCRIPTION:THIS IS NOW FULL. PLEASE RSVP FOR THE WAITING LIST. THANKS \nThe past few years we have run a workshop with Linh and Nhung (2 artists from the Fine Arts University) based on the face painting tradition of Tuồng theatre. \nTuồng is often referred to as classical Vietnamese opera; it is different to other genre of Vietnamese theatre such as Chèo.  It uses a series of characters recognizable by their elaborate face make up and costumes. Their personalities are shown through the colour of the face\, eyebrows and facial hair.  The art of face make up is a distinctive and artistic feature of Tuồng. \nLinh is interested in the face painting and the story telling of Tuồng.
