SUMMARY:One day excursion: Đô temple and Diềm  Village in Bắc Ninh - FULL
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL. PLEASE RSVP THROUGH THE REGISTRATION LINK FOR THE WAITING LIST.    \nBắc Ninh Province used to be an ancient capital of Vietnam from the 2nd to 10th centuries. This is the homeland of Buddhism. Buddhism penetrated deep into this land very early on; however\, it really blossomed during the Lý Dynasty. Hence\, one reason why there is an impressive system of old pagodas and temples that reflect all the cultural characteristics and architecture of Buddhism. This is a precious tangible cultural value passed down from generation to generation. This value is also the pride of the Bắc Ninh people\, which everyone tries their best to preserve. \nBesides the tangible cultural values\, this province also possesses intangible ones\, including festivals. These take place mainly in spring season\, held in almost all pagodas and temples. Therefore\, after the Lunar New Year\, Bắc Ninh is a favorable destination for people all over Vietnam to visit. \nBắc Ninh Province is especially famous as the cradle of a special traditional folk song – called Quan Họ (recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage practice in 2009).  It is commonly performed in rituals and at festivals including a very famous one called the Lim Festival\, celebrated on the 13th day of the first lunar month. \nFor our excursion today we visit two famous places in Bắc Ninh: the Đô temple in Đình Bảng Commune\, which worships eight kings of the Lý  Dynasty\, and Diềm  village – the centre of “Quan Họ”. \nnotes \n8am arrive the Pan Pacific hotel meeting point ready to depart at 8.15am.\nWe arrive back in Hanoi about 6.00 pm \nMeeting point – outside the back entrance of Pan Pacific Hotel\, on Yên Phụ Street\, corner of Thanh Niên Street (not the main foyer entrance) \nPlease RSVP via this registration form by 29 February latest\nhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdeIsLmxxFm4mqm6y4mF02HO-ES4jcOOZN9SZBnjYs71IMTkA/viewform \nExcursion led by Ly and Ngoc Anh.  Our hosts in Bắc Ninh speak VN.
