This time we are spending a full day with the villagers split into 3 parts/activities \nHạ Mỗ has a very ancient and important history\, and today is famous for many elements including: \n\nthe Ô Diên Citadel\, dating from the 6th century AD (smaller and less famous than the other ancient capitals of Thăng Long and Huế but equally important)\,  General Tô Hiến Thành born in the village who was a chief Minister in the Ly Dynasty\,\nA special type of cháo (porridge)\nLace making\n\nWe get to experience the important history of this very friendly picturesque village on the banks of the Nhuệ River. \nMorning\npart 1.  9am arrive at the village and meet our lovely hosts Mr Táo and Mr Việt \nVisit Văn Hiến temple and learn about the life and work of General Tô Hiến Thành\, where he is also buried. The temple also houses some very old woodblocks. \nBeautiful and equally ancient atmospheric Hải Giác Pagoda and then the Vân Xuân communal house \npart 2.  11am-12noon – cooking class with 2 of the villagers – we learn how to make the special Hạ Mỗ cháo  (porridge) which is a specialty of the village – unlike other cháo dishes can be eaten with chopsticks \nLunch\n12noon-1.15pm eat the cháo  we make and/or lunch in one of the local food places or bring a picnic (please note our hosts need time for their lunch and a rest hence our break is 1hr 15mins) \nAfternoon\nPart 3.  1.30pm-3pm Culture Chamber Chief Mr Nguyễn Xuân Việt gives us a lesson in making a special type of lace – a fun and different type of workshop suitable for both men and women. \nGroup photos then bid farewell to our hosts. \n3.30pm we make our way back to the Pan Pacific \nAdults 380k pp\, 200k per child under 15yrs.  Covers transport\, donation to the village community\, cháo  making class and lace making workshop.
