Have you ever pondered the meaning behind cherished sayings like “Uống nước nhớ nguồn” or “When drinking water\, remember its source\,” and how they connect us to the wisdom of our ancestors? \nFor this event FVH is partning with  Incense(a)tive – a project set up by a group of young inspirational Vietnamese dedicated for preserving and translating ritual documentation  into English –  to bring you other ways to explore the deep roots of Vietnamese customs and lesser-known cultural gems. This is a great opportunity to uncover fascinating traditions that even many locals may not fully know and also see through the eyes of today’s young generation. \nJoin us for an engaging talk show style event with guest speaker Dr. Dr Trần Đoàn Lâm\,  the programme covers: \n\nThe history and evolution of the ancient script Chữ Nôm.\nThe special rituals of Tết\, including inviting ancestors to celebrate on the 30th of the Lunar New Year and bidding them farewell on the 4th of the first lunar month.\nThe symbolic meanings behind the New Year’s pole (Cây Nêu) and the Khai Hạ ceremony.\nThe significance of Tết Hàn Thực\, featuring traditional dishes like Bánh Trôi and Bánh Chay.\n\nThere will also be some delicious traditional treats to try \nNumbers.
