SUMMARY:Music event - The Hope Choir celebrates VN day of people with disabilities
DESCRIPTION:We are invited to attend a concert by the Hope Choir singers and folk instrumentalists to celebrate this year’s Vietnam Disabilities Day  on 18 April 2021. \nThe venue is the Cultural Exchange Centre at 50 Dao Duy Tu which is dedicated to the history and preservation of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. \nThe choir is a group of singers and folk musicians who are blind or a few of them are severely visually impaired. They are amazing – not because they are blind but because quite simply they are fantastic  singers and musicians. \nWe hope as many people can attend as possible to support them.  The choir was formed over 15 years ago by pianist Ton That Triem and his opera singer wife Xuan Thanh. What they have achieved with minimal funds and little resource is incredible.  If you have not heard them perform before then they are one group of people you cannot miss. They are amazing\, so please come along if you can. If you already know the choir then they need no introduction. \nThey sing the songs in the language of the particular song. Triem teaches them the meaning of each word\, they transcribe the lyrics into braille and they learn the song from braille.  They need the support of the international community to keep going.  Some of them come from families where 2-3 of the  siblings are also blind. They come from lives which are very hard and yet for many they have made incredible personal achievements – even going abroad to study\, getting masters degrees. \nThere is no entry fee but if you would like to make a donation for them please feel free to give an envelope to Triem at the end. \nFor this concert the program features folk music and songs from around Vietnam and the world. \nIf you could like to attend please let Stella know in order to advise Triem how many FVH people may be there – stella@fvheritage.org and also for more information on the venue \n3rd floor\, Cultural exchange house\, 50 Dao Duy Tu  – google maps – https://goo.gl/maps/CK6rGSAJssZxMm1RA \nFVH is proud to be long time partners with the Hope Choir. \nPROGRAM to come \n  \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
