SUMMARY:Mid-Autum Festival (evening): invitation to the opening ceremony of "Lưu Trăng" (Preserving the Moon) exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Tết Trung Thu is the Mid-Autumn Festival and Vietnam’s second most important festival after the Tết lunar new year.  In the lunar calendar\, it falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month\, which is 25 September 2026 this year. \nThis month Hanoi is hosting “Lưu Trăng” (Preserving the Moon) exhibition and events at from 22 Hang Buom. This is in association with the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter\, and CLB Đình làng Việt (our DLV are our lovely special friends and partner without whom there are some events FVH could arrange). \nThe opening ceremony of this series of events is on Thursday 10 September starting 7pm. CLB Đình Làng Việt have kindly invited FVH members to come along. The image in this event entry is the invite to us. \nThe exhibition showcases traditional Mid-Autumn Festival toys including star-shaped lanterns\, carp lanterns\, revolving lanterns\, lion dance heads\, and paper scholar figurines that have been researched\, restored\, and creatively reimagined by young people. \nEveryone is welcome to attend. Please note that this is not an FVH organised event but we are invited so feel free to come along but there is no need to RSVP to FVH. Also we currently don’t have a full agenda for the opening ceremony.  If you would like to come along dress code is option but we would recommend as a sign of respect for DLV to wear a modern or traditional ao dai if you have one (but not essential) \nVenue: 22 Hàng Buồm\, old quarter.  Google map link  https://maps.app.goo.gl/yizg5mJvwU9S9yMe8 \nTime: starts 7pm (not sure of the end time it probably lasts about an hour) \n(free to attend) \nit will be in Vietnamese and probably some ENG interpretation if a lot of non- Vietnamese attend \nThe “Lưu Trăng” exhibition is a unique art exhibition space created by a group of young artists and craftsmen from 3 heritage projects: Thong Dong\, THE ANNAM\, and Của Nả. With their skillful and contemporary artistic techniques and aesthetic thinking\, the young artists will bring a magical light museum at 22 Hàng Buồm with giant lanterns\, toy vehicles made of gold\, and the majestic paper lanterns. In addition\, the Mid-Autumn Festival Night is a large-scale procession of 500 people around Hoan Kiem Lake\, vividly recreating the lively sounds of drumming\, lion dance\, and the rustic “Nguyệt Cung” scene\, as well as the lively procession of paper horses. \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
