SUMMARY:Mid-Autum Festival (evening): lantern parade around Hoàn Kiếm Lake
DESCRIPTION:Tết Trung Thu is the Mid-Autumn Festival and Vietnam’s second most important festival after the Tết lunar new year.  In the lunar calendar\, it falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month\, which is 25 September 2026 this year. \nThis month Hanoi city is hosting the “Lưu Trăng” (Preserving the Moon) exhibition and series of events at from 22 Hàng Buồm. This is in association with the Management Board of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter\, and CLB Đình làng Việt (DLV are our lovely special friends and partner and without them we could arrange some of the events we hold). \nThis series of events culminates in the impressive lantern procession taking place on mid-Autumn festival night around Hoàn Kiếm Lake (solar calendar 25 September 2026) \nEveryone is welcome. NB: this is not an FVH organised event but we are invited to attend so feel free to come along. No need to RSVP to FVH. Although dress code is just to dress modestly if you would like to join the procession we strongly recommend – as a sign of respect for DLV and the event – that you wear a modern or traditional áo dài  if you have one. Feel free to bring your own traditional Vietnamese lantern to carry\, if you have one. \nStarting point: 2 Lê Thái Tổ and Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục Square\, top of Hoàn Kiếm Lake –  google map link https://maps.app.goo.gl/EHS1JNJERcsgEErP8 \nTime: 7pm-9.30pm the whole event could last over 2 hours. You can stay for the full procession or leave at any time\, or dip in and out as it goes round the lake. \n(free to attend) \nNOTE ON DRESS CODE\nGeneral note. Although Đình làng Việt say dress code is not important – apart from modest dress (no shorts\, short clothes\, strapless or tight tops etc) – we\, at FVH\, strongly advise wearing a modern or traditional áo dài. FVH values the true culture of events and Đình Làng Việt preserves the values of the traditional áo dài . For all their events their core members wear the correct style of dress – being FVH as a partner we should also wear an áo dài out of respect. While its OK to take part in normal clothes if you don’t have an áo dài\, you will 100% wish you were dressed like the majority and will feel like you are missing out.  Thanks for your understanding \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
