DESCRIPTION:THIS WALK IS NOW FULL PLEASE RSVP FOR THE WAITING LIST  \nA weekday walk \nThis walking tour gives an overview of the changes to Hanoi during the French colonial period in Vietnam\, which lasted more than six decades. By the late 1880s\, the French controlled Vietnam\, Laos and Cambodia\, collectively known as Indochine Français (French Indochina).  We touch on the development of the education system\, town planning and architecture (including that of the political and diplomatic centre) as well as other eclectic information regarding past and present Hanoi . Starting at the back of Chu Văn An school we make our way to Hanoi’s iconic Ba Đình Square and focus on the past and present lives of some important government buildings. We stroll the surrounding avenues of embassies\, up to Điện Biên Phủ and Hoàng Diệu street ending our tour at Cửa Bắc (north gate) and Cửa Bắc Church in Phan Đình Phùng street. \nPlace:   West Lake side – near the back of Chu Văn An school not far from Thanh Nien steet \nLimit:  8 people \nThis walk is an extra long walk which normally lasts 3 hours – there is a natural place to break the walk 3/4 of the way \n  \n  \nPlease note at this changeable period due to COVID-19 that events are subject to government and local authority advice plus the agreement with our hosts; some events may need to be postponed at the last minute; we hope this won’t happen\, but we will keep you updated.  If you have any questions\, please contact us at hello@fvheritage.org.
