DESCRIPTION:THIS WALK IS NOW FULL. PLEASE RSVP FOR THE WAITING LIST. THANKS (OR IF A REPEAT WALK IS SCHEDULED) \nJoin us for a morning’s stroll down Lê Duản street and the surrounding area. You may be surprised that a walk could be made out of this area.  Starting at Cửa Nam we explore the history of the former south gate\, the nearby streets and stories of the area\, who was the ‘French Lady with the flared skirt\, where were parasols traded\, where is one of Hanoi’s original Phở gà stalls\, what did ‘Quan An Ngon’ used to be\, what used to grow where Hanoi railway station is\, and …..  who was Lê Duản the man himself ..….. \nMost of what we talk about has sadly long gone but there are some interesting stories which bring the area alive together with  memories\, and photos of what hopefully will be an eclectic whistle-stop tour through history of the Lê Duản area.  Shortly into the start of the walk have a short stop at a near by cafe for those who would like some refreshments while we learn about this cafe’s claim to fame. \nStarting point: Chợ Cửa Nam\, ending at Tran Hung Dao opposite Hanoi railway station \nRSVP to stella@fvheritage.org \nVery max 8 spaces available  \n©1999 Friends of Vietnam Heritage.
