DETAILS BELOW*** \nThe movie for this month is Mother’s Soul. \n “Mother’s Soul” produced by the Vietnam Feature Film Studio\, was nurtured in 20 years by director Nhue Giang. The movie is based on a same-name short story written by Nguyen Huy Thiep in the late 1980s. It is about a mother and her daughter who live in a tent amid the Red River in Hanoi. The mother (Hong Anh) is always busy making a living day by day by selling fruits in Long Bien market and desperately running for the love with a long-distance driver (Truong Minh Quoc Thai). Meanwhile\, her little daughter (Phung Hoa Hoai Linh) is an independent and mature girl who always protects the neighbouring orphan\, a boy living with his grandparents. \nIn the film\, young star Phung Hoa Hoai Linh showed her strong capability with a touching and sincere acting style\, which made her become the youngest Vietnamese artist to win the Best Actress trophy at 2011 Dubai’s International Film Festival. She was also rated as one of the potential faces of future cinema generations of Vietnam. \nBesides\, the film also won other prizes such as the jury’s prize in Vietnam Film Festival held in Phu Yen in 2011 and top prize at Vietnam Film Festival in Saint Malo\, France in 2014. \n \nProduction year: 2011 \nDuration: 92 minutes \nSubtitle: English \nVenue:           Vietnam Feature Films Studio (VFS)\, No. 4 Thuy Khue\, Tay Ho district\, Hanoi. Người mẹ (Hồng Ánh) luôn bận rộn mưu sinh và mải mê chạy theo cuộc tình vô vọng với người lái xe đường dài (Trương Minh Quốc Thái). Trong khi đó\, đứa con gái (Phùng Hoa Hoài Linh) còn nhỏ tuổi nhưng tự lập\, luôn bảo vệ\, che chở cho cậu bạn thân. Phim là sự đối lập giữa người mẹ “lớn” còn bồng bột và người mẹ “trẻ con” chín chắn. \nGây chú ý nhất trong Tâm hồn mẹ là diễn viên 12 tuổi Phùng Hoa Hoài Linh trong vai Thu. Lối diễn chân thật\, trong trẻo\, gây xúc động của Hoài Linh đã giúp cô bé trở thành người nhỏ tuổi nhất trong lịch sử điện ảnh Việt Nam giành giải Nữ diễn viên chính xuất sắc tại LHP quốc tế tại Dubai năm 2011. Cô bé cũng được đánh giá là một trong những gương mặt tiềm năng của nền điện ảnh tương lai của nước nhà. \nĐây là bộ phim được ấp ủ hơn 20 năm của nữ đạo diễn tài năng Phạm Nhuệ Giang.
