SUMMARY:Excursion: Ước Lễ Village and Hồ Chí Minh Trail Museum
DESCRIPTION:Ước Lễ Village\, Tân Ước Commune\, Thanh Oai District\, Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh Trail Museum\, Yên Nghĩa\, Hà Đông\, Hà Nội \nFull day excursion.  Visit Ước Lễ village in Hà Tây one of the less well known/touristic ancient villages outside Hanoi. \nƯớc Lễ Village is an ancient village located about 30km west of Hanoi. It is famous for pork paste (giò lụa) making profession and its old village gate which bears the inscription “Mỹ Tục Khả Phong” (good traditions). In 1880\, Emperor Tu Duc made an inspection tour in the north and bestowed this noble title on 6 villages of Hà Tây Province (part of Hanoi today)\, including Ước Lễ. The Ước Lễ villagers have brought the reputation of the village’s pork paste to all other provinces of Vietnam and even beyond the national border. \nComing to Ước Lễ Village\, we will be warmly welcomed by the friendly villagers. Experience an ancient and tranquil Vietnamese village\, and learn how to make the pork paste in the traditional way when there were no machines. \nThis trip is combined with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum\, the “Trường Sơn miniature” in Hanoi to better understand the dedication and sacrifices of the people who dedicated their lives to the legendary Trường Sơn Trail. \nDetailed programme: \n8:30 AM: meet at the Pan Pacific\, 8:45 AM: depart for Ước Lễ Village \n9:45 AM: Reach Ước Lễ . Here we will visit the village gate\, temple\, market complex and meet on of the pork paste-making artisans \n12:00 PM: Enjoy a typical Vietnamese lunch with a local family using with Ước Lễ ingredients \n1:00 PM: Visit the Sổ Pagoda \n1:30 PM: Depart for Hồ Chí Minh Trail Museum (which is on the way back to central Hanoi) \n4:00 PM: Depart for the Pan Pacific Hotel (expect to be back around 5:00PM) \nNotes: Lunch fee is not included in the participation fee but it is minimal cost. Please pay the local family directly. There are 2 lunch options: \n\nWith meat: including white rice\, 3 types of pork paste specialties\, and 1 type of vegetable 50\,000 VND pp\nWithout meat (vegetarian): including white rice\, fried tofu and 1 type of vegetable 20\,000 VND pp\n\nExcludes drinks \nOr you can bring your own lunch pack. \nWhen registering please state if you need lunch. The cost will be advised later. But it won’t be much. \nRSVP to Anh via email.
