SUMMARY:Excursion - Tam Đảo and Animals Asia Bear sanctuary - FULL
DESCRIPTION:THIS EXCURSION IS NOW FULL.  ANY NEW RSPVs WILL BE ADDED TO THE WAITING LIST. THANK YOU \nJoin us on our 3rd time in the past 3-4 years as we  visit the former French hill station of Tam Đảo\, 85 km northwest of Hanoi. Its higher elevation and cooler temperatures than Hanoi. The highlight of this excursion is our morning visit to the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre. Animals Asia established this centre to provide bears rescued from illegal bear bile traders with a safe place to live\, heal and recover. More than 110 bears have been rescued to date; the sanctuary also provides many local people with employment. \nThe centre is open to visitors by special appointment only\, and the staff has informed us that the best time to arrive to see the bears is to start around 9am – hence the early start for this excursion!   We combine this trip with a wander around Tam Đảo town situated in a forest valley. The town is known for its delicious “su su” vegetable and fruit\, and wild chicken dishes. \nOutline plan for the day  \n7.15am DEPART Hanoi \n 9am ARRIVE at Animals Asia Bear Sanctuary – spend time observing the bears. End the visit in their visitor centre watching a video on their work and projects \n11am head into Tam Đảo town \n12.00-1pm lunch (either bring a picnic lunch or have lunch in a local restaurant cost appx 100\,000 – 150\,000vnd. Please bring water with you during the trip or you also can get it in town \nDuring the afternoon we hope to include as much as possible  (weather and timing permittiing) of the following: \n\nThe old church in Tam Đảo\nHeaven’ Gate (rocky mountains 1\,500 above sea level and 35\,000 hectare national park\nBà Chúa Thượng Ngàn temple (Vietnamese goddess of forests and mountains)\nThác Bạc (silver) waterfall….\n\n4pm appx DEPART Tam Dao \, returning to Hanoi around 6pm/6.30pm \nPlease also have a look at the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre’s latest guidelines for visitors (shorturl.at/iFQ24)\, inlcluding Covid prevention practices in place at the sanctuary including- wearing masks and washing hands. Hand sanitiser and temperature measures are available at the security guard. \nMeeting point.  Outside Pan Pacific Hotel\, Yên Phụ Street\, corner of Thanh Niên Street. Please arrive 7.00am ready to depart at 7.15am in order that we arrive in Tam Dao on time.
