SUMMARY:Cultural series - Tam giáo. The 3 teachings of Confucianism\, Taoism\, & Buddhism - nearly full
DESCRIPTION:2 spaces left as of 15 May morning \nConfucianism\, Taoism\, and Buddhism are considered the “three pillars” of ancient Chinese society and they form part of the rich and varied Vietnamese religions and belief systems. \nBuddhism was introduced to Vietnam in the 2nd century and during the Ly Dynasty it became the state religion at the time in Vietnam. \nConfucianism in Vietnam comes directly from Chinese culture and is a form of wisdom and code of social behaviour based on family and community order. \nTaoism is derived from the Chinese word for the  ‘way’ or ‘road’\, and like Confucianism\, originated as a philosophy rather than a religion searching for the way/the one. \n*********************************************************************************************** \nDr Trần Đoan Lâm\, former Editor in Chief of Thế Giới publishers and member of Đình Làng Việt the group of cultural scholars will take us on a whistlestop journey through the history and foundations of this trio of philosophies and religion. \nLâm has the ability to explain complex topics in an easy to understand way. \nAppx 2.5 hours but as with all talks with Lâm please allow up to 3 hours or stay later to chat more with him. But feel free to leave when you need too but you are also welcome to stay longer. \n(This topic has been specially requested by a few FVH friends) \nVenue:  The Dinh Lang Viet group meeting space\, room 107\, house D4\, Trung Tu collective area\, Dong Da district\, Đặng Văn Ngữ street. near Xa Dan lake\, near Xa Dan street. Detailed venue information on exact location with venue photos will be sent to those who are confirmed. \nPlease RSVP to stella@fvheritage.org \nMin 10 max 20 people. \n250\,000 VND pp to cover contribution to the venue\, hosts and refreshments at the end of the talk \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
