SUMMARY:Cultural series: Talk/lecture. The National Symbols (Identity) of Vietnam
DESCRIPTION:FVH is taking part in  the Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design : Hanoi 2020\nHanoi: “Culture and Creativity” \nActivity: talk/lecture \nWe are delighted to partner with the State Records & Archives Department of Vietnam Centre III to host a talk and presentation about three iconic national symbols of Vietnam. \nThe National Flag red back ground with yellow star represents Vietnam’s spirit\, solidarity of ethnicities\, the revolutionary fight and heroic sacrifices of the Vietnamese people during the fight for national independence and reunification. \nLearn about a familiar every day icon one may not think about. How much do you know about the design and the reasons artist Bùi Trang Chước chose the particular images that make up the National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam?  It represents Vietnam’s sovereignty and national identity\, a symbol for an independent country and it was formally adopted in 1956.  \nIn 1944 Nguyễn Văn Cao composed what is now the National Anthem\, but why did he originally write/compose it?  This song was first formally played on 2 September 1945 during the Declaration of Independence Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square. \nCome with us on a journey to explore the stories behind this iconic trio. \n \nPROGRAMME (approximate timing) \nAllow 2hrs (up to 2.5 hrs depending on Q&A and if 2 special guests can attend who will share some personal stories) \n\n9.10am arrivals and ‘ registration’.\n9.30am welcome.\n9.35am-9.45am.  A short introduction by Director Trần Việt Hoa to the State Records & Archives Department of Vietnam Centre III\n 9.45am-10.45am.
