SUMMARY:Cultural Series (a.m): Presentation/talk on Vietnamese Embroidery heritage - nearly full
DESCRIPTION:AS OF A.M 31 MARCH APPX 4 SPACES AVAILABLE \nVietnamese hand embroidery is more than just a craft – it is a living heritage\, woven with history\, cultural identity\, and artistic mastery. For centuries\, Vietnamese artisans have created stunning embroidered works that tell stories\, preserve traditions\, and connect generations. Yet\, in modern times\, this profound heritage has often been overshadowed by its commercial aspects\, leaving behind a wealth of untold stories and unrecognized artistic depth. \nJoin textile artist and researcher Phạm Ngọc Trâm in an inspiring talk that delves deep into the heart of Vietnamese embroidery heritage. Through a rich exploration of its historical significance\, intricate techniques\, and cultural symbolism\, this talk will reveal embroidery’s unique place within Vietnam’s broader artistic landscape. \nDiscover how embroidery interweaves with other traditional crafts such as silk weaving\, goldthread making\, and motif drafting\, creating a tapestry of artistic expression that is both delicate and powerful. This session is more than just a presentation—it is an invitation to see embroidery through a new lens\, to appreciate it not only as a craft but as an art form that carries the soul of a people. Whether you are an artist\, historian\, or simply someone who appreciates cultural heritage\, this talk will leave you with a newfound appreciation for Vietnamese embroidery and its enduring legacy.
