Cultural series: Ngọc Linh – Vietnamese film making from the 1960s
October 29, 2022 @ 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
250,000VNDStil with an extraordinary amount of energy and a passion for art, life, writing and sharing stories….. join us for a morning with artist and former movie art director Ngọc Linh as he goes back in time revealing the secrets of how he and his colleagues made some of the first Vietnamese films in North Vietnam going back to the 1960s.
We plan this as a warm cosy chat with a specific focus on the techniques for filming making at the start of the Vietnamese film industry. It will be casual converation, Q&A, watching clips of some of some of Ngọc Linh’s workas one of the 2 original Art Directors at the Vietnam Feature Films studio. The aim is for us to dig deep to understand the film making process at that time.
We focus on 1 of his most favourite films – Vo Chong A Phu.
It is also his birthay on Sunday 30 October so we also plan a happy birthday from FVH.
This event is run in conjuction with National Archives centre 3 who put us in touch with Linh; they are very kindly allowing us to meet on a Saturday when the Archives are normally closed for the weekend.
Vietnamese with ENG translation.
