SUMMARY:POSTPONED - Craft workshop: the different faces of Tuồng
DESCRIPTION:DUE PERSONAL SCHEDULES THIS WORKSHOP IS POSTONED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE IN APRIL OR MAY. THANKS \nThis is a repeat of the workshop we held before Tet. It went really well and was really good fun and very informative and we learnt some fascinating things about Tuong theatre. We will run this workshop a few times each year\, hosted by Woods Cafe\, in Ngoc Khanh (thank you Woods team). \nPart talk\, part workshop – full morning. \nLinh\, one of the young artists we partner with (who graduated from the Fine Arts University) has devised a new workshop based on the face painting tradition of Tuồng theatre. \nTuồng is often referred to as classical Vietnamese opera. It is different to other genre of Vietnamese theatre such as Chèo.  It uses a series of characters recognizable by their elaborate face make up and costumes. Their personalities are shown through the colour of the face\, eyebrows and facial hair.  The art of face make up is a distinctive and artistic feature of Tuồng. \nLinh is interested in the face painting and the story telling of Tuồng  and created a workshop that combines drawing and painting the face ‘mask’ on dó paper and creating a collage.  You can make your collage/artwork as simple or as intricate as you like. \nAs  the story behind Tuồng and its face painting is very interesting this is a 2 part event \nPart 1 appx 45 mins 9.15am-10am\nIntro and explanation to what Tuồng  is\, the genre\, origins etc.\nInfo about the face painting\, and what some of the images mean and will be supported by ppt and video \nPart 2 appx 2 hours 10am-12pm\nWorkshop where we create our own Tuồng face mask collage \nSpace for – min 5 people to very max 10 people (we cannot take more than 10 due to space) \nVND 390\,000 same price for everone (includes talk and workshop  and all material) \nVenue – Woods Cafe\, 84 Phạm Huy Thông\, Ngọc Khánh lake (behind RMIT) \nContact – please RSVP to stella@fvheritage.org \n  \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
