SUMMARY:Craft workshop – ethnic minority fabric craft workshop - quả còn - FULL
DESCRIPTION:THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL. PLEASE RSVP FOR THE WAITING LIST \nIn 2023 we started to run some workshops with Huyen of Textile Linker fame. She teamed up with Thuy who founded Chie Dù Pù Dù Pà in Hang Trong street to run craft workshops.  Huyen is busy with many of her own projects at the moment but we are starting to run workshops again with Chie. \nThis month we are making 3 quả còn which we link together. The workshop is designed for both advanced in sewing and less skilled. Quả còn is a fabric ball and stems from a traditional folk game of northwest highlands ethnic minorities. Chie will first explain about the origins and story behind this product. \nFor this workshop the quả còn are pre-sewn on most sides but we complete them by stuffing with cotton wall filing and sew up the last side. We learn to make the frabric ‘pompons’ to link the 3 balls together (harder than it seems) and attach them all together.
