SUMMARY:Craft making - traditional paper cutting workshop: new year decorations
DESCRIPTION:In the past\, Vietnamese people often made wall and door decoration items from paper for special events\, including Tet Holiday. \nNowadays it is easy to buy any decoration stickers at very reasonable prices and various designs to make your home more beautiful. Though\, it is always more interesting and meaningful to make some by yourself\, which are also truly unique with a personal and traditional touch.  In the scope of this workshop\, we will be making New year decorations for multiple purposes (e.g doors\, windows\, walls\, and table decoration…)\, which combines different patterns (flowers\, leaves\, animals…) using Kirigami – the art of paper cutting. Let your imagination shine since art has no limitation. \n\nKirigami is the Japanese art of papercutting\, originated from Origami\, which is favoured by many people around the world. Kirigami includes cutting of the paper\, rather than just folding\, and utilizes different techniques.\nWe welcome all participants from 1.45 PM. There is time for you to order drinks\, receive provided tools & materials then the workshop starts at 2.00 PM.\n\nPlease bring a pencil and some pieces of thin\, (one side) used paper with you for practicing before working with the coloured paper \nRSVP to Phuong Anh  via email. \nMaximum participants 15 \nVenue: To Chim Xanh – Bluebirds’Nest Book Cafe (a lovely book cafe with some cute cats)\, No 13\, Alley 19\, Dang Dung St\, Ba Dinh District\, Hanoi  https://goo.gl/uCi58m \nAdults: 250\,000 VND \nChildren under 15s/ 100\,000 VND \n(Coloured paper & scissors are provided.  Drinks purchased at the café are an extra cost) \nThe teacher is an elderly maths teacher who also is skilled in the art of paper cutting and traditional crafts.
