SUMMARY:Musical Folk theatre - exploring the world of Tuồng - PROGRAMME AMEND
DESCRIPTION:NB – the Tuong theatre has to cancel the performance scheduled for evening 31 August as the ward will host an anniversary show similar time \nInstead of postponing our event we will hold part 1 ( foyer exhibition tour) and part 2 (watching a performance) will be rescheduled. However part 1 has to move to the morning as won’t have access to the theatre foyer in the evening. \nExploring exploring the world of Tuồng theatre. \nTuồng is a form of Vietnamese musical theater that has stuck around for hundreds of years since its introduction in the 13th century\, during the Lý Dynasty. With its roots going back to Chinese opera\, Tuồng was originally an elite form of entertainment but has transformed over the years to be more accessible to the general public. Tuồng flourished in the Nguyễn Dynasty with the help of Đào Duy Từ (military mandarin and poet) and Vietnamese playwright Đào Tấn\, which explains its popularity in the South compared to the North. That’s also why Tuồng shouldn’t be confused with Chèo\, another form of musical theater\, more satirical\, traditionally a peasant & lower-class entertainment and more popular in the North. \nIf this interests you then we invite you to dive further into the world of Tuồng at the Hồng Hà Theatre\, where you will not only learn about this fascinating art form but also the history of the building. \nTour of the foyer exhibition and theatre exploration to hear about the history and tradition of Tuồng including the elaborate face painting and costumes\, and about the theatre/building itself. Arrive  9.30am to tick off names\, tour starts  9.45am ending approx 11am. \nStandard FVH walking tour fee of VND 100\,000 per adult \nMeeting: Hồng Hà Theatre\, 51A Đường Thành St\, opposite of Hàng Da Market \nNumbers: maximum 10 people. Full welcome note will be sent to those who are confirmed \nPlease RSVP via google form (by 27 August latest) tick part 1 (however if you are interested in coming to an actual performance another time please tick part 1 and 2 so have this information for the future) \nhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScg8XiHRLvb6HV8IdyizdM7vEWM2Zwl2BWt1_d_jfbSbxYAlg/viewform \n  \nPlease follow and like us:Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
